A rare opportunity for the aspiring, passionate and creative person to join this independent florist based in South Liverpool and serving the community for 35 years.
You will learn and develop skills to produce a variety of floral tributes and florist artistry to meet the varying needs of our clients. You will cover simple thank you orders through to weddings, celebration funerals and memorials and corporate.
4 x GCSEs with minimum Grades D / 3 (or equivalents), including English and Maths no lower than an E / 2
Ideally but not essential have a full, clean driving licence
Day to day duties include the following:
Arranging Flowers within a small team
Face to face and telephone sales
Cutting stock and general housekeeping
Merchandising
Potentially Driving / Delivering flowers
Responsible for general day to daycare and conditioning of fresh materials
Knowledge, Skills and behaviours developed within the apprenticeship will include:
Work towards creating stylish and commercial floral designs
Develop a knowledge of commercial fresh flowers and plants
Recognise and work towards excellence in customer service
Build a portfolio of practical floral designs which can be developed through level 2 and hence towards Level 3
Learn new techniques within the industry and develop their own creative skills.
Maintain health & safety within the retail environment
The successful candidate will benefit from invaluable in house training with Sheffield college support.
32 hours over 4 days
(one of these days will be a Saturday or Sunday)
9am-5.30pm
Delivered in house with some planned sessions in Sheffield where required
Wage dependent upon age and experience with performance reviews
£145.60 / week for the first year, second year at least minimum wage for age

Florist Level 2 Apprentice Standard - includes End Point Assessment
The National Minimum Wage for Apprentices is £4.15 per hour. This is the legal minimum pay per hour applying to 16-18-year-old apprentices and those aged 19 and over in the first year of their apprenticeship. For apprentices 19 or over who have completed their first year and are continuing their apprenticeship, the National Minimum wage appropriate to their age applies
You will be expected to work in cold conditions in the autumn and winter months and must be willing to learn and be able to identify several fresh flowers, foliage and plants by their botanical names and become knowledgeable on their cultivation
You will need to apply through Sheffield college as they are the apprenticeship provider. They will assess that you meet the criteria and recommend for interview those that meet the requirements.
